Ghostwreck - 2022

HM is proud to premiere metalcore/alternative rock crew Ghostwreck’s sophomore EP, 1954.

Hailing from New York, Ghostwreck hones a diverse array of backgrounds and musical inspirations. A collection of songwriters, Ghostwreck marries post-rock influence with contemporary metalcore; riveting guitar solos, thunderous breakdowns and soaring injections of melody all take their place on their new collection.

Vocalist James Kelso shares more about the EP:

“For our sophomore release, we wanted to pick up where we left off and at the same time, take the next step writing music together and we feel we did just that for the 1954 EP. It was an amazing experience working and collaborating with Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland over at Atrium studio, as they really pushed us to get the tracks to a place where we really enjoy them and hopefully the listeners will, too!”

The band’s debut EP, The City is Gone, dropped in 2021 and, despite the lack of live shows during the pandemic, the band picked up traction with a string of radio play, with lead single, “Disaster With A Capital D,” surpassing 100,000 streams on Spotify.

Having spent the last year working on their sophomore effort at Atrium Audio in Pennsylvania, the new EP is another display of ambition from the band. Adding a distinctly more post-hardcore edge to their sound, the album is a conflation of Ghostwreck’s talents and ever-increasing chemistry, a vivid hybrid of dexterous influences with a deft execution.

1954 will be available everywhere tomorrow, December 9. Learn more about the band at ghostwreck.com.
