Hillsong releases new one

With more than 11 million albums sold and dozens of songs sung weekly in congregations around the world, Hillsong LIVE returns with its 20^th annual recording, God Is Able, set to release July 26 on Sparrow Records.  Recorded live along with thousands of worshippers gathered together at Sydney Entertainment Centre in Australia, the album delivers 11 brand new anthems led by Hillsong worship team members Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston, Ben Fielding, Darlene Zschech and Hillsong UNITED, as well as international teams from London, Stockholm and Cape Town.

Each year Hillsong Church, one of the world’s fastest-growing evangelical ministries, records songs from its worship community around the world that have resonated with the church.  In a year that has received its fair share of turmoil, both in Australia and around the world, with tsunamis, earthquakes, nuclear disasters, tornadoes and war, God is Able is about resourcing the Body of Christ with fresh songs of worship.  It is about seeing people connect in a real and personal way with the Living God in control of the universe, encouraging hope, even in the midst of our present circumstances.

“I love this album,” says Hillsong’s Reuben Morgan, Worship Pastor, Hillsong Australia. “The songs are fresh, they are songs of faith and hope, songs that our church have really taken hold of.”

The album includes the passionate praise of “Rise,” a song by Joel Houston that speaks to the unending faithfulness of God in the midst of whatever is going on in our world, “Alive In Us,” an anthem featuring the vocals of Darlene Zschech and celebrating Jesus’ ultimate victory over all death, and the album’s title track, written by Morgan and Ben Fielding, that is an upbeat and instantly singable reminder of the greatness of the One we are called to worship.

“We sat down to write ‘God Is Able’ with the words of Ephesians 3 stirring in us,” remembers Fielding.  “God isn’t small enough to fit into even our grandest thoughts and plans.  He is immeasurably beyond them. In our most hopeful moments, and when it’s hard to imagine a way forward, when circumstances seem so overwhelming… Our God is with us, He is for us, He will not fail or leave us.”

In addition to the CD, the God Is Able Deluxe version features two bonus songs, while the 15-song companion DVD includes the “The Scarlet Thread” bonus video, chord charts, live videos, acoustic performance videos and the International Leadership College Trailer, which is a behind-the-scenes look at Hillsong’s leadership training college.
