In celebration of one of Christianity’s most sacred events, GMC TV, America’s favorite channel for uplifting music and family entertainment, presents the epic biblical drama, Jesus.  This GMC World Premiere Event, will air on Palm Sunday, April 1 at 7 p.m. ET with encore broadcasts on Good Friday, April 6 at 9 p.m. ET and on Easter Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The event stars Jeremy Sisto (“Law & Order,” “Six Feet Under,” Suburgatory, Clueless, White Squall) in the title role.

The inspiring and passion-filled drama captures the extraordinary life and mission of Jesus.  While offering a historical perspective, this unique interpretation presents an intimate portrayal of Jesus, as a young carpenter from Nazareth, capable of experiencing a range of human emotions, including a sense of humor and whose spiritual teachings changed the world and continues to inspire billions of followers more than 2000 years after his crucifixion.

The stellar cast also includes beloved international film star Jacqueline Bisset (Rizzoli & Isles, Joan of Arc) as Mary, Debra Messing as Mary Magdalene and Academy® Award-nominee Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Kung Fu Panda 2, The Book of Eli, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) as Pontius Pilate.

Jesus is a production of Five Mile River Films in association with Lux Vide.  For more information about Jesus, visit, http://www.gmctv.tv/world-premiere-event-jesus
