Today, Texas-based metalcore titans Fit For a King kicked off a very busy 2022 with a brutal music video for their brand new single, “Reaper.”

The band comes roaring out of the gates with their first new release this year. It’s got moshable grooves, hellfire riffs, and an ominous, ticking clock that nods to the song’s lyrical concept.

Vocalist Ryan Kirby shares more about the new track:

“In the studio, I became obsessed with a German TV show called Dark. The show really had me reflect on how finite our time on earth is — that we have no control, no matter how rich, religious, or diligent. Time is truly the Grim Reaper.”

One of the heaviest and catchiest extreme metal acts from the Lone Star State since the original cowboys from hell, Fit For a King’s ascendance is demonstrated as much by the massive singalongs at their shows as their jaw-dropping streaming numbers, and they’re only just getting started. The band will drop its seventh album this fall, and will also hit the road with I Prevail and Pierce The Veil for a two-part national tour. All dates are listed below and tickets are available on the band’s website.
