First taste of new music from their forthcoming album now streaming at AltPress.com

Metal buzz-band FIT FOR A KING has spent much of the last year turning heads on tours crisscrossing the US setting the stage for the release of their anticipated freshman release with new label Solid State Records. Now, the band is excited to announce a March 12th release date for that album, a pummeling effort entitled Creation/Destruction.
To further whet the appetites of fans, the Tyler, TX-based band is premiering the first track from
Creation/Destruction, the crushing track “Warpath,” right now exclusively through AltPress.com

“We felt like ‘Warpath’ showed all the different elements this album has to offer,” says vocalist Ryan Kirby. “When the song was originally written we had no intentions of it being a ‘single’ but once we played with the structure and added vocals it instantly became one of our favorites. Plus, we used a clip of the song in the first studio update we put out and got a very good response!”

Recorded with esteemed producer Andreas Magnusson (OH, SLEEPER, HASTE THE DAY, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER), Creation/Destruction is at once the fulfillment of a longtime dream for FIT FOR A KING, and just the first step in what is sure to sure to be an incredible journey for a band with massive potential.

Following several years of relentless DIY touring and a well-received, independently released album (2011’s Descendents), FIT FOR A KING are reaping the benefits of their hard work. The hotly tipped metalcore band has been elbowing its way onto the national scene as a full-time touring outfit, cultivating fans at an alarming clip with a crushingly heavy, artful take on the genre that gives subtle tips of the hat to bands as diverse as THE ACACIA STRAIN, CIRCA SURVIVE and LINKIN PARK.

The band’s passionate music, coupled with an explosive live show, has made the band a sensation in the independent music scene. With Creation/Destruction, FIT FOR A KING are set to take their already surging career to new heights.

HM Magazine Turns 35

In 1985, Doug Van Pelt photocopied a letter-sized sheets of paper, bound them together, and handed them out in person on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
