Tyler, Texas quintet Eisley will kick off their seven-week “Over the River and Through the Wood Tour” on October 9 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The run will circle the U.S., first hitting the Southeast, then East Coast, Midwest and West Coast before cycling back to North Texas for a final date in Dallas on November 27. Ives The Band and Christie DuPree — younger sister of Eisley’s Chauntelle, Sherri, Stacy and Weston DuPree, and cousin of bassist Garron DuPree — will support all dates.

Eisley are currently finalizing plans to release their long-awaited third LP, following their separation from longtime label Warner/Reprise earlier this year. More details on label and release date will be announced in the coming weeks. Eisley’s latest LP release was 2007’s “Combinations,” followed by the “Fire Kites” digital EP last year. Eisley singer/guitarist Sherri DuPree recently posted a solo version of Neutral Milk Hotel’s “Two-Headed Boy, Pt. 2,” which is available from the Dallas Observer’s website: http://bit.ly/aDcjPQ

Comrades 2020

Becoming Comrades

The trio of Comrades – husband and wife Joe and Laura McElroy alongside drummer John Gaskil – is used to living in a van and touring the country. Now, their new normal has provided them with a moment to "be adults" for once. We recently sat down with the McElroys to talk more about the spiritual reality within life, how soon they'll be able to release new music, and how koalas are their new normal.

Tigerwine 2020

A Disparate Vintage

On Tigerwine's latest, 'Nothing is for You,' vocalist and lyricist Trobee departs from the band's last effort as a concept record to write about an array subjects. Notably, Trobee tackles his evolution from rigid belief system to an acceptance and understanding of other ideas: "Through touring and becoming close with those very people I was taught to be afraid of, I realized how untrue it all is."
