“It’s an angry song,” explains lead singer and songwriter PETE LOEFFLER about the inspiration for “Face to the Floor.” “The lyrics are about all the people who have been taken advantage of. I reference Bernie Madoff and his Ponzi scheme. He raked people over the coals, stole and is a terrible person. One day, these people have everything, and the next day it’s completely gone.”

In his CD review, Dan Aquilante of the NY POST hailed the explosive track as “a powerhouse head-banger that would make the Occupy Wall Street protesters mosh without pepper-spray. The tune’s loopy melody has a very Metallica feel, while the lyrics spit in the face of Wall Street greed, corporate corruption and power-hungry robber barons ready to stomp the little guy. The rich may get richer, but the poor get to rock out.” (12/6/11). With its hypnotic and grinding riff, “Face To The Floor” is the first single off the band’s newly released full-length album HATS OFF TO THE BULL (Epic Records) which debuted at #19 on the Billboard Top 200 chart; the song continues to impact radio nationwide reaching #1 at Active Rock and Top 10 at Modern Rock Radio.

CHEVELLEPETE LOEFFLER (Guitars, Vocals), SAM LOEFFLER (Drums) and DEAN BERNARDINI (Bass, Vocals)–recently stopped by ABC TV’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! outdoor stage where they performed “Face To The Floor” and “Same Old Trip” also off HATS OFF TO THE BULL. Tigerwine 2020

A Disparate Vintage

On Tigerwine's latest, 'Nothing is for You,' vocalist and lyricist Trobee departs from the band's last effort as a concept record to write about an array subjects. Notably, Trobee tackles his evolution from rigid belief system to an acceptance and understanding of other ideas: "Through touring and becoming close with those very people I was taught to be afraid of, I realized how untrue it all is."

HM Magazine Turns 35

In 1985, Doug Van Pelt photocopied a letter-sized sheets of paper, bound them together, and handed them out in person on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. It's all digital now, but, along the way, Van Pelt stirred up quite a few waves, played some seriously heavy music, and made a few friends along the way. Here: A quick look back at the magazine's 35-year history with Van Pelt and new owner, David Stagg.
