BECOMING THE ARCHETYPE announce European Tour

20 date, 10 country trek marks band’s first European dates of 2011

Atlanta, Georgia, metallurgists BECOMING THE ARCHETYPE are excited to announce an October/November European headlining tour in support of their latest album – Celestial Completion – released earlier this summer on Solid State Records.

The tour – spanning 20 dates and 10 countries – sees the adventurous metal act’s first dates outside of North America since the highly praised release of Celestial Completion. Supporting BTA on select dates are Finland’s IMMORTAL SOULS and France’s BEYOND THE DUST.

BTA has a strong connection with European things, especially chocolate,” explains guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist/chocolate enthusiast ‘Count’ Seth Hecox. “We love northern European metal and the castles and all the obviously epic metal elements that make Europe way more awesome than America.  But mainly we love the chocolate.”

“Also, we like being warm, so we’d like to request that Europe is to turn the temperature up. Our last time in Europe is was rather cold for us warm-blooded Americans. Can we get the whole continent up to a nice, comfortable temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit or so? As a refined musician, I abstain from putting forth the effort to convert that to Celsius. Kidding. Just make it warmer.”

With Celestial CompletionBECOMING THE ARCHETYPE set out with the goal of taking wildly ferocious metal and pushing it to its breaking point. There are horns. There is Middle Eastern sitar. There is a choir of sopranos. There are haunting piano dirges. Safe, paint-by-numbers metal this is not.

The result? A highly praised envelope pushing album which “showcases massive songs, massive ideas and a massive array of instruments,” according to Metal Hammer, who further called BECOMING THE ARCHETYPE “the cleverest band ever to use death metal as a reference point and add a brass section.”

HM covers from over the years

HM Magazine Turns 35
