Springfield, MO-based pop-punk band Hold Close is proud to premiere the first single, “Temper,” from their upcoming EP, I Was Never Meant to Stay. The EP is set to drop in early October, recorded with Seth Henderson at ABG Studios, who worked with other pop-punk headliners Knuckle Puck. The video was done by Zach Mayfield of Mayfield Creative.
We spoke with vocalist Braxton Smiley about the new track:
“The song is very close to home. It’s about something that was really important in my life, and it slowly fell apart. But after everything that happened, it’s better to get through it and figure life out on your own. It’s actually a very positive song. I think ‘Temper’ really defines the EP and what Hold Close is. We can’t wait for everyone to hear the rest of this record. Shoutout to Seth Henderson at Always Be Genius Recording for helping us create something that means so much to us.”
The band will be touring immediately after the release of the EP in October. More information on dates and times will be available closer to the release of the album.
