James Mattern (of Open Grave Records/Divine Metal Distro) is compiling a book chronicling Christian metal in its various forms.  The book, entitled A – Z Discography of Christian Heavy Metal, seeks to be “a complete discography listing every track recorded by over 500 groups [including] member line-ups, catalogue numbers, demo recordings, compilation recordings [and] recommended must-have recordings.”  The project is being funded through kickstarter, and you can read more about it at kickstarter.com/projects/deathvalleyjim/a-z-discography-of-christian-heavy-metal.

Although James Mattern is behind the project, it is unclear who is helping compile the information.

HM presents an oral history of the beginning of Christian metal music, featuring Guardian, Tourniquet, Holy Soldier, Whitecross, and, of course, Stryper.
