UK alternative metal outfit Memorist is known for crafting powerful emotional journeys in their music, layered in satisfying atmospheric textures and driving choruses. The band recently signed to UK-based label Year Of The Rat Records and released their first single, “The Empiric,” earlier this summer. Their latest release, “Second Sequence,” just premiered via Dreambound and will be released everywhere this Friday, August 6.
“Second Sequence” is a truly collaborative effort on the band’s part, with each member bringing unique ideas to the final arrangement. The story cultivates a deeply emotional and intricate listening experience, reflecting the band’s commitment to an honest and artistic interpretation of their own memories.
Vocalist Jon Sinfield has this to say about the new song:
“Despite being called ‘Second Sequence,’ this song was actually the first to be written (instrumentally) as part of the new material that we are now releasing. Interestingly, it’s the only song that we have ever written as a band in our practice space when rehearsing, rather than writing it either collaboratively in the studio or remotely in our respective home studios.”
“Second Sequence” is one of many singles Memorist plans to release over the course of 2021 and is now available for pre-save.
