Vancouver-based progressive metal band Spiritbox has finally announced the release of their long-awaited debut album, Eternal Blue. Coming September 17 via Rise Records, the album will feature 12 tracks written over two years, including singles like “Holy Roller,” “Constance,” and “Circle With Me,” which have already become fan favorites.
Since their start in 2016, Spiritbox has built up an enormous following with their creative music videos, impressive one-takes, and overall innovative approach to alternative metal. Vocalist Courtney LaPlante has also recently launched her own podcast, Good For A Girl.
To coincide with the announcement of their first full-length record, the band has released another stand-out single off the album, “Secret Garden.” Sonically, it may be the furthest from what fans are used to expecting from the trio, but the song still boasts the ethereal depth and intricacy that Spiritbox always brings to the table in abundance.
LaPlante shares more about the band’s latest track:
“I want to continue to showcase the fluidity that is inherent in heavy music, and even though this is just one part of a full body of work that may not sound exactly like this song, it is a song that we love and are obsessed with. I celebrate variation. Secret Garden is exciting to me, for this reason. I’m scared but excited, like I’m about to hit the big drop on a roller coaster, and I’m fully embracing that.”
