Denver quintet The Anchor have registered national acclaim with their impactful and ambitious sound, balancing thunderous breakdowns with majestic melodies and a heartfelt delivery. Today, HM is proud to offer an exclusive early listen to the band’s new single, “(Re) Avow.”
“(Re) Avow” is The Anchor’s first release since their 2019 sophomore LP, Breathe. Throughout the pandemic, the band delivered a series of covers, including Escape The Fate’s “Guillotine” and New Found Glory hit “All Downhill From Here,” and now, the metallers are gearing up for their return to the stage with a blistering new single.
Vocalist Linzey Rae gave us an exclusive look behind the new track:
“The story behind our track ‘(Re) Avow’ is a call to action to keep fighting. Life can be like a war zone at times, and there is nothing that you do can change that. You just have to put your head down and push forward. No matter how high you have to climb, or how long you have to swim, just know that you are here for a reason and you will make it out of what you are going through.”
About their greater message, the band says: “We write music with the objective of providing an uplifting message while promoting the value of self-worth. Knowing firsthand the refuge that music can offer away from life’s struggles, we hope to be a voice of understanding and provide a place that someone can call their home.”
“(Re) Avow” is available everywhere tomorrow, September 16. If you like what you hear, keep up with The Anchor on Facebook and Instagram.
