Hey, HM Magazine is calling for volunteers to submit art for a mosaic/collage we are putting into our new issue. If you’re an experienced graphic designer, that’s awesome! You’ll have no trouble sending us something (to spec: 2″ x 2″ at 300 dpi). If you’d never in the world consider yourself an artist, that’s awesome, too. Just send us something. I’m thinking a mosaic, kind of like what you might find in India. Maybe a little Japanese and some Mexican art… It’ll be a mixed bag, like the above graphic is (but I’m thinking squares with rounded corners, not trapezoids). You can submit anything, but I’m favoring the idea of blues, yellows, reds (if that helps).
Just send us a jpg file (other file types are okay). It’ll end up as a “CMYK” file, but most programs out there have “RGB” as a default. If you’re a pro, you’ll know that the conversion from RGB to CMYK will tweak the colors ever so slightly, so if it matters, send us the file as CMYK color (stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black … RGB is Red, Green and Blue… These colors combine to give us the “full color” image we see in print and/or on our computers).
THIS IS URGENT and WE ARE UNDER DEADLINE, so you have 5 days to get us something (starting today, 3/26). If you finish slightly after Wednesday 3/30, please don’t automatically assume that it’s too late and give up. Please contact me if you haven’t turned your square in by 3/30. There may still be room and time.
