On the heels of releasing their third studio album, Today, 33Miles will be releasing their first, full-length Christmas record titled Believe. The Christmas CD will be sold separately at all digital retailers, and will also be available in stores with purchase of their latest recording Today.

“Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year,” explains 33Miles’ Jason Barton. “Chris and I have both wanted to make a Christmas record since childhood.”

The ten track album features holiday classics such as “Joy to the World” and “O Holy Night” alongside original tunes including “Finally Christmas.” Believe was available last year exclusively at Family Christian Stores during the holiday season. “O Come All Ye Faithful (Sing to the King)” and “I Believe In Christmas” will be released to radio for the Christmas season.

“’O Come All Ye Faithful’ is such a glorious reminder to Christians that this season is a celebration of Christ.  It’s not about presents, music, holiday movies, or anything else,” says 33Miles’ Chris Lockwood. “It’s about the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  More than ever, Christians need to rally and show the true meaning of Christmas, which is the selfless love of our Savior.”

“‘I Believe In Christmas’ is a declaration/prayer for those who have lost hope due to the hard circumstances that life throws at us,” adds Barton. “Christmas is hope and that hope is Jesus Christ!”

33Miles will also be embarking on a tour throughout the holiday season. “The Believe Tour” will partner with local churches to allow choirs and worship teams to open the show. The tour is slated to visit 10-12 cities in December. Visit 33Milesonline.com for a full list of tour dates and details.

33Miles’ Today released on Oct. 5 and was produced by Ian Eskelin (Francesca Battistelli, Stellar Kart) and Nathan Nockels (Passion, Phillips, Craig & Dean). Today features 10 new songs with an overarching theme of encouraging listeners to make the most of their present time. The band is currently on the “Today Tour” through mid-November with JJ Heller.

33Miles is comprised of Jason Barton and Chris Lockwood.  The band has received multiple GMA Dove Award nominations, including one for “New Artist of the Year” for their self-titled debut.  They have released three albums with INO Records to date: a self-titled debut, One Life and their most recent, Today.  The band also unveiled a Christmas project which released nationally this fall. 33Miles’ aggressive touring schedule includes nearly 150 dates a year, many with long time sponsors and ministry partners Food for the Hungry.

Heaven's Metal: An Oral History of the Genesis of Christian Metal

Heaven's Metal

When rock emerged from blues and 'heavy metal' began to surface, faith-based metal acts also rose to start their own journeys. Initially shunned by both believers and non-believers, they were fighting for their spot at the table, ultimately building a legacy that would go on to change the genre forever. HM presents an oral history of the beginning of Christian metal music, featuring Guardian, Tourniquet, Holy Soldier, Whitecross, and, of course, Stryper.
