War Room
War room Blu-ray DVD review this movie made an unlikely hero out of a praying grandmother, which is really endearing. The bonus footage on this Blu-Ray/DVD rounds out the topic of prayer with the Kendrick brothers’ (Director & Producer team) commentary, giving little nuances and behind the storyline and how they wanted to tell it delicately but also straight-up. There’s also “A Pastor’s Call to Prayer” and a couple shorts (called “The Church on its Knees” and “Investing in the Next Generation”) that further emphasize the reality and potential power in prayer. There’s also some extras we’ve come used to (but are still fun, behind-the-scenes looks), like “The Making of War Room” and “From Auditioning to Acting” and, of course, a bloopers reel. It’s always cool to see the actors laughing and smiling – especially when the plot is mostly serious.
Here is a link to a video review I posted shortly after Blu-ray DVD was released.
I like this film and appreciate the creative story of redemption and appreciated the struggle the main character had to go through in order to recover from the massive devastating problem he got himself into. There’s not only sex, but there’s lies, drugs and religion (or running from God). [Sony Pictures Home Entertainment] Doug Van Pelt
