So, I’m heading into my wonderful city tomorrow to cover the annual ACL Fest. I’m looking forward to lots of good music. I just wish I could have booked Seabird and mewithoutYou, among others, for this eclectic lineup. I’m most excited about seeing MUTEMATH. They will be playing on the LIVESTRONG stage, which is the largest of the 8 stages (I think). It’s equipped with giant video screens on either side and has a huge area to hold lots and lots of people. I hope it’s extremely crowded for their 2pm to 3pm show on Saturday. I’m anxious to hear how the songs from their new album (Armistice) sound live. It’ll also be interesting to see how much (if any) they’ve tweaked their awesome live show, which has been wonderfully consistent for a good three-plus years now.

Tomorrow is a group called Medeski, Martin & Wood, who I first got turned on to when they did the Live At The Wetlands (I think that’s the title) album with Robert Randolph & The Family Band. They can be credited for bringing that talented group to the world’s attention.

I hope the weather stays dry and cool, but that’s not what I’ve heard is forecast. We shall see… Be checking out my tweets (or Facebook updates) for show info/observations.
