**Notes: Whenever a show is after midnight<\/strong>, we list it on the night of the previous day, rather than the morning of the next day. I mean, when you go out for the night, you’re gonna stay past midnight and call that one night…
\nSome shows are free and those, as well as others, will fill to capacity. If there is a MUST-SEE show, get there early – very early<\/strong> – and stay till your band starts.
\nWhat if there are two artists both playing at the same time?<\/strong> I’m glad you asked that question. You club-hop! Catch the first part of one artist, then leave and go catch the second half of the other. It’s a necessity and I can’t tell you how fun it is to take in so much good music on one night – sometimes in one hour!<\/p>\n

One of the events I’m most excited about, though, is the Blue Like Jazz movie, which premieres Tuesday night at the legendary Paramount Theater.<\/p>\n

I have a wonderful job. I am blessed to cover music and entertainment. The work I do, though, is way too much. I constantly wear myself out. This doesn’t stop me from enjoying events like SXSW, though. The drive downtown from my place gives me time to relax and get excited about the events before me. I haven’t tired of this stuff – at least not yet. The in-between times, though, where I’m trying to write two books, get a deadline done, figure out my schedule and actually do a few normal things, like keeping our house clean, etc. Whew! Gasp. Weez. Sputter.<\/p>\n

Okay, on to more SXSW news. If you can’t make it, there are some movies on demand options for you:<\/p>\n

The famed 2012 SXSW Festival kicks off this week in Austin, TX.\u00a0 Not all movie-lovers can get down to experience the films in person, but some of the most notable recent South by Southwest films are playing starting March 9* on Movies On Demand on Cable — \u201cDragonslayer\u201d(Grand Jury Prize winner for Best Documentary Feature at the 2011 SXSW), \u00a0\u201cKill List\u201d (Nominated for a British Independent Film Award), and \u201cLast Days Here\u201d (Documentary follows Bobby Liebling, lead singer of seminal hard rock\/heavy metal band Pentagram) will all be available on digital cable nationwide**.\u00a0 Plus, Time Warner Cable subscribers will have even more films to choose from in their South by Southwest folder, which includes the above titles, as well as \u201cCave of Forgotten Dreams\u201d (breathtaking 3D documentary from the director Werner Herzog), \u201cThe Catechism Cataclysm\u201d (Nominated for a Gotham Award for Best Ensemble Cast), \u201cWeekend\u201d (Winner of the 2011 SXSW Competition Award), and \u201cLove Songs\u201d (Directed by French cinema auteur, Christophe Honor\u00e9).\u00a0 Film-lovers should check on their On Demand guide listings for In Theatres or Early Screening categories\u00a0(the folder is called IFC at SXSW).<\/p>\n
