Holy+Gold adds founding Norma Jean guitarist Chris Day to roster

News 3 Sep 17 By

Holy+Gold has announced that Chris Day, a founding guitarist of Norma Jean, has joined the band. HM Magazine’s Nao Lewandowski spoke with the band’s vocalist, Keller Harbin, confirming Day’s arrival. Day split ways with Norma Jean as the last original member of the band having performed on every album until the most recent, Polar Similar, which was released last year.

“Chris Day, a long-time friend and overall badass, is taking up permanent residence in the Holy+Gold family,” Harbin told HM. “Brandon Henderson moved to Florida in the fall of 2016, leaving a void in the band. We’ve had friends filling in for the past year, which really made it hard to stay consistently busy.”

Henderson was a founding member of Holy+Gold; Henderson and Harbin were founding members of The Chariot. Scottie Henry is already a member of Holy+Gold, who was also a founding member of Norma Jean. This now marks the reunion between Henry and Day.

The band recently released their debut EP, Feral Children, on vinyl, which you can pick up at the band’s Big Cartel.

Upcoming tour dates:

  • Sept. 9 — Atlanta, GA, Drunken Unicorn — Mighty, Killing Kuddles, Ayo River
  • Sept. 10 — Nashville, TN — That ’70s House — Mighty, Nameless-Nameless
