Stream Extol’s self-titled record, released today

News 25 Jun 13 By

There are big things happening for the Norwegian metalers Extol, as they release their fifth full-length record today. HM reviewed the self-titled effort, and it’s already garnering praise:

Extol is known for starting a record strong and not letting up until it is over. This record is no exception. All you need to know is that you are going to have a bangover when this album is over. Reviewer Rob Houston

Extol is featured in the July issue, as well, and they had this to say about the themes on their release:

We didn’t have any main theme in our minds when we wrote lyrics for the album. Most of my lyrics are based on personal experiences I’ve had over the last years. For example, “Betrayal” talks about injustice, and Jesus’ command to take care of each other, while “Wastelands” talks about the time in my life when I was really down with a lot of anxiety and fear. Vocalist Peter Espevoll

Extol is available now online at Facedown’s store and digitally on iTunes and Amazon MP3.
