Commodity

Review by

Commodity is a concept album by veteran rockers Remedy Drive. After vocalist David Zach spent time in the Far East helping undercover operations bust human trafficking rings, he penned this album based on the suffering he witnessed; he emphasizes each person as a “soul inside a body,” designed to love and be love. After all, it’s love that will destroy evil. “Darkness would destroy us,” sings lead singer David Zach, “without love as a weapon of choice.” There are a number of innovative songwriting skills used on this album, which helps to put the band’s unique synth-rock ambiance in a league of its own instead of as a Coldplay clone. The album drives straight to the heart with ethereal melodies and honest lyrics. This album really shines in the tracks “Commodity,” “Love is Our Weapon” and “The Wings of the Dawn.”
