Sing My Welcome Home

Review by

Pacific Gold’s mission is to take old (often obscure) hymns and repurpose them with new music and arrangements. The result is the debut album Sing My Welcome Home, released by the burgeoning BadChristian music label, BC Music. It’s an album filled with indie rock music that would be just as comfortable in the church as it would in a coffee house. At times quirky and at times mellow, Sing My Welcome Home is evocative of the groovy rock stylings of the ’60s and ’70s. The album brings new life to these poetic hymns in a way I’m sure the original authors would applaud. Notable tracks include “Gone to the Grave,” “Dear Refuge of My Weary Soul,” “Sweet Rivers of Redeeming Love” and “The Sands of Time.”
