MewithoutYou show review- 10/24 Stubbs, Austin TX
It was enjoyable to watch the crowd’s bewildered reaction to mewithoutYou’s opening slot on the Coheed and Cambria tour.
Lead singer Aaron Weis looked as if he had been living on the streets the last few months, donning a beard and soiled shirt and shorts.
His bi-polar demeanor fueled the tension in his voice and gave dramatic climb and fall to his poetic rantings, especially in the set opener, “Torches.” Aaron sat down by the drums many times through out set, looking perplexed and nervous at the same time.
He was soon back on his feet, delivering in song and dance fashion, fueled by Rickie Mazzota’s thundering drums. During one such display, Aaron grabbed a drumstick and banged away on an old yellow pot with much gusto. An accordion also accompanied such dramatics.
To my surprise, the band didn’t play their beloved “January 1979,” but played many off of Catch For Us The Foxes, and only revisited older material in “Bullets to Binary.” Blood Brothers members Johnny Whitney and Mark Gajadhar both looked on with “What the?” stares as mewithoutYou finally won over the crowd’s approval just in time to finish their set.

I saw these guys on the same tour in dallas and I left as soon as they got done didnt want any other band to ruin my night. I first heard of them on a solid state sample album then bought "catch for us.." and have loved them ever since
I have a question, were the images stretched or edited in some way? Aaron has never looked that bad and 3 pictures up it looks as if his head had grown. I can understand his clothing though and I admire Aaron for what he stands for but please if these images were stretched or edited in some way take them off this site. I don't believe this is who he is and these pictures for someone who has just heard of mewithout you will get wrong ideas. I think this is wrong and I am sure that others do also. Please, fix this

From this comment go three pictures up look at the guy on the right he looks as if he shruck so yes i did look at the other people in the pictures i didn't just jump to conclusions. They don't look right to me and I think they should be fixed. I love mewithout you pleae fix it. at last take that picture off then. If you've seen other pictures of aaron he doesn't look like that at all.

Lol i agree with mike aye, i reckon that doesnt look anything like Aaron Weis, specialy tha third one up. i dont realy mind tho. these guys are legend i luv them to the max, if youv never heard them you should check them out. seriouly. do it.
to be honest aaron weiss lives like a hobo-eating out of trash cans and wearing the clothes only that people give him. I have definitely seen him looking like this before.
The only problem is that Aaron physically doens't look like this. I know how he dresses and how he lives and i admire him for that. He doesn't look like this physically, i'm sure all of you agree.

Aaron Weiss is a pretty cool fellow, so who cares if the photograph has a strange perspective of him. Any photograph is a gross misrepresentation of who a person is, if it is used as such. I think he would laugh at it, and so will I.

haha....i cant beleive all your talin bout is aorons chioce of clothing!?!? im from australia and love MWY and want them to play here so bad,resect them,love them, its all about the musci you know?
I think it might be that the pictures are just really low resolution. I've never seen them live so I really don't know how he looks.
I was the one who took these pictures and I guarantee they were not tampered with. This is what he looked like at the show. Besides, it's just a pic so lets not get carried away.
It has long been said that a sign of a great artist is one who develops rabid, devoted followers who often come across as obsessive. Although I have never been that excited about MeWithoutYou personally, I can see from these comments that they are artists of this caliber. The pictures do indeed tell a story.
Well, pictures do form opinions in peoples minds. However, I saw Weiss on the tour, and he totally looked like that. He pulled bread out of a nearby dumpster and ate it onstage, sharing with the crowd. He intentionally looks like a bum, and lives like one, and I, for one, admire him greatly for it.

I love mwy. I love every thing they do and stand for. I also don't think the person who put these pictures up understands them. Weiss does not care about his physical appearance. He has said over and over that he is doing what he's doing to get the message out to young kids that God loves them and he isn't concerned with what people think of him. That is why I love mwy.
