VANS WARPED TOUR 2010®–the annual punk rock extravaganza that is North America’s longest-running touring festival–celebrates its 16th anniversary this year, kicking off June 25 in Carson, CA and wrapping August 15 in Hillsboro, OR.  Below is a list of this year’s new and returning attractions, activities and tour sponsors.  Please go to www.warpedtour.com for the full list of tour dates and bands performing in each city.

VANS SKATE RAMP “Amateur Mini-Ramp Skate Jam”:
A Vans Warped Tour without skating is like a deck without trucks. Whether you understand that analogy or not, you’ve gotta stop by to see local pre-qualified contestants shred during the Amateur Mini-Ramp Skate Jam. This contest will be featured at each stop on the Vans Warped Tour and awards $500.00 cash prizes daily as 20 to 25 local “hot” pre-qualified skaters shred the mini-ramp for fun and money. KIA KEVIN SAYS STAGE POWERED BY KIA MOTORS:
For the third consecutive summer, Kia Motors America (KMA) heads out on tour, to more than 40 U.S. cities as “Official Vehicle Sponsor of the 2010 Vans Warped Tour®.”  At each tour stop, festival fans have the opportunity to visit the Soul Lounge, an interactive tent featuring the Kia Soul, the Kia Forte Koup and the all-new Kia Sportage, launching in the U.S. market this summer.  The Soul Lounge also features a live DJ, airbrush tattoo artists, a Soul “Confessional” and daily, exclusive autograph sessions with two of the biggest bands on tour, Hey Monday and Christopher Drew of NeverShoutNever. Fans can pick up their Kia VIP wristbands for exclusive access to a dedicated VIP riser near the main stage, providing shade and unobstructed views.  To receive a VIP wristband, fans are given an opportunity to show their dedication to Kia Motors by participating in a variety of games and contests inside the Soul Lounge.  As in previous years, Kia remains the “Presenting Sponsor” of the Kevin Says Stage, a solar-powered stage that provides local bands the opportunity to play their music for 2010 Vans Warped Tour concertgoers. truth® TRUCK:
What does the truth do at the Vans Warped Tour? Each year we do some pretty cool stuff…

  • We show up in a bright orange truth truck that is tricked out with a DJ booth, sound system, flat screen, and lounge area.
  • We play random fun games with teens all day, giving them the opportunity to win some cool merchandise and high quality gear items including T-shirts, sunglasses, suspenders, bracelets, and gym Bags.
  • Our Scratch academy DJ gives people DJ lessons in front of the truck at the show.
  • Most importantly, we spread the truth about the dangers of tobacco, the deception of the industry, and tactics of Big Tobacco. We hope that by doing all of this teens will make their own informed decision.

VANS WARPED TOUR NON-PROFIT AREA:
The Vans Warped Tour has once again committed to creating space at each show for local, regional and national nonprofit organizations to educate and motivate concertgoers to become involved in their local and national communities. The 2010 Nonprofit Area will be bigger than ever, averaging 20+ organizations per date, see a partial list below. Concrete Wave
Magazine has teamed up with a number of sponsors to entice you into their passport program in support of non-profit organizations. The total value of prizes to be won is over $100,000! To start your travels, simply visit their booth located near the Take Action area and pick up your official Vans Warped Tour/Concrete Wave Passport. Then head out and visit a number of non-profit booths and get your passport stamped. Once you’ve travelled to the required number of booths, return to the Concrete Wave booth for a chance to win some amazing prizes. These include extremely rare tour t-shirts and patches. Grand prizes include complete skateboards from Goldcoast Longboards and a Contiki Vacation to London and Paris with all expenses paid.

ALTEC STAGE:
Altec Lansing is hitting the road with the Vans Warped Tour this year. Bands rocking their stage include Breathe Carolina, Set Your Goals and Hey Monday (to name a few).
