This wasn’t going to be a normal Tuesday night bowling league when members of the band Pepper showed up to bowling alley in matching Hawaiian shirts and yellow “Pepper Security” hats and the folks from Monster Energy donned togas and gold leaf crowns. Last Tuesday night in Las Cruces, NM was the scene of the 4th Annual Vans Warped Tour/T.J. Martell Foundation Bowling Tournament where 23 artists from the 2011 Vans Warped Tour along with their fans competed for heavily-coveted 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies. This year Hellogoodbye’s team was victorious and August Burns Red gave them a run for their money coming in second while local radio station The Rocket’s took the third place trophy home in Las Cruces. Over 400 people packed into the 10 Pin Alley and stayed to the final frame. The 2011 bowling tournament raised over $10,500.00 for the T. J. Martell Foundation.

In addition to the tournament, fans were able to bid for a chance to bowl on the same team as their favorite band via eBay and for the first time, the tournament was open to a limited number of spectators who made additional donations to the event. Fox Racing was also on hand to supply the top eight teams and fans with their premium sunglasses and Punky Pets donated goody bags filled with tons of great product to the evening’s attendees. The event was hosted by local radio station and media sponsor The Rocket 99.5 and their on-air staff. All attendees received a limited edition hologram pass courtesy of i6 Tix and all bowlers received a one-of-a-kind event shirt donated by Advent Clothing Co.
